Doggy dinner loaf – chicken, beef or fish


Ingredients:


Rice (brown or white), raw                  1 cup
Water                                                    1 liter
Pasta (whole meal or plain), dry          1 cup
Oats rolled, raw                                   1 cup
Eggs, raw                                            4 average
Flour, whole meal                               1/2 cup
Calcium carbonate                              1.5 tsp
Vegetables:
Potato, raw chopped                           1 average
Sweet potato, raw chopped                1/2 cup
Carrot, raw grated                              1/4 cup
Pumpkin, raw chopped                      1 cup
Spinach or silverbeet, raw                 1 cup and
Chicken, raw, with skin                     14oz plus chicken liver 3.5oz             or
Beef mince, regular, raw                   2 cups plus 3.5oz liver                       or
Fish, raw                                           14oz plus olive oil 2    

Directions:


Cook rice in boiling water, add potato, sweet potato and pumpkin, and pasta and cook for further fifteen minutes.
Add remaining ingredients, choosing the fish, beef or chicken.
The mixture should be moist but firm, add more oats if necessary.
Place the mixture in the oiled loaf tin for up to one hour at 180 degrees.
Remove loaf from the tin, and place in the oven for further ten to fifteen minutes to set.
Divide the loaf into:
6 slices of 500 calories
10 slices of 300 calories
20 slices of 150 calories
Energy from protein 25 percent, fat 35 percent, carbohydrate 39 percent.


lamb crockpot

Ingredients:


Rice, white, raw                      1/2 cup
Vegetables                               1/2 cup
Oil, sunflower                         1/4 tbs
Lamb liver                               1oz
Lamb's tongue, raw                 2 average
Lamb kidney                           2 average
Lamb heart                              1 average
Bone-meal                               1.5 tsp

Directions:


Cook all but oil in a pot on a slow heat.
Alternatively cook rice and leave the rest raw.
Energy from protein 30 percent, fat 35 percent, and carbohydrate 33 percent. Calories 1000.

lamb broth

Ingredients:


Lamb, raw, lean                                             25 oz
Water                                                             2 liters
Carrot, raw, grated, diced                              1 cup
Barley, raw, pearl 1/4 cup Parsley, raw         1 tbs

Directions:


Cut up meat and place in pan.
Cover with water and bring to boil.
Simmer for 90 minutes then add barley and carrot and simmer for a further 60 minutes.
Add parsley towards the end of cooking.
Allow cooling and remove any excess fat.
Divide into several meals over 1 to 2 days.
This recipe provides 1000 calories, energy from protein is 65 percent, fat 20 percent and carbohydrate 15 percent, and is excellent following surgery, where appetite is poor and protein needs are high.

Chicken soup

Ingredients:


Chicken breasts, raw, diced                   2
Barley, pearl, raw                                  1/2 cup
Olive oil                                                1/4 tbs
Chicken liver                                        2oz
Carrot, raw, finely chopped or grated   1/2 cup
Egg, raw                                                1 average
Water                                                     1 liter

Directions:


 Lightly fried chicken and liver in oil.
Gradually add water to a pan and add barley and carrot.
Once the barley is soft and cooked, turn the heat down, and whisk in 1 egg.
Cool broth. This provides approximately 1000 calories and is designed to be fed in 1/2 capfuls to whole capfuls every couple of hours.
The energy supplied by protein is 33 percent, fat 39 percent, and carbohydrate 25 percent. The fluid can be given on day one, offering more liquid than energy, and then on day two, the meaty broth mixture can be fed in several small meals.

Beef Meat Balls

Ingredients:


10 pounds ground beef
10 eggs 
1 1/2 cups rice
3 cups chopped broccoli and carrots 
Optional chopped parsley and sprinkled breadcrumbs

Directions:


Cook the rice and veggies until soft
Add all ingredients together and mix in a big bowl 
Form into balls and place on a greased cookie sheet
Bake at 400 degrees until fully cooked, which is about 40 minutes
Cool and serve !

Beef Stew

Ingredients:


1 1/2 pounds of beef- any kind
1 sweet potato 
½ cup of carrots 
½ cup frozen peas
2 tablespoons coconut oil
Water

Directions:


Pan-fry the beef until thoroughly cooked & drain the grease 
Pierce sweet potato with fork and microwave for 10 minutes or until soft 
Steam the carrots and peas until soft 
Add all the ingredients into a pot and add enough water to just cover the ingredients then simmer for about 20 minutes 
Cool and serve!

Oats & Chicken

Ingredients


2 pounds of chicken breast 
1 cup of rice
⅔ cups quick-cooking oats 
2 cups spinach
½ cup carrots 
½ cup plain yogurt 
½ cup chopped parsley
2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions


Cook rice until soft 
Boil chicken until cooked completely and then drain the water 
Steam the spinach and carrots until soft and chop
Add all ingredients together
