Christmas dog cookies

Ingredients

400 grams organic minced meat (we used wild goose)

Directions

Place a cookie cutter on a small piece of parchment paper, and fill it with minced meat.

Pick up the cookie cutter and use your fingers to gently press the meat out of the cookie cutter onto a lined baking tray.

Try to make cookies of similar thicknesses, around 1 cm or ½ inch or thinner.

Place the baking tray in a preheated oven on 65 degrees Celsius for 8+ hours.

Take the treats out of the oven when they have reached a structure that you prefer. After 8 hours the treats should be slightly soft, after 12 hours they should have gone crispy.

Softer treats can be stored in the freezer for 2 months, crispy treats can be stored in the fridge for 2 weeks or in the freezer for an extended period of time.

Alternatively, use a dehydrator for the drying process. Since we don't have one, we relied on our oven to do the work!

Blueberry Honey Dog Christmas Cookie Recipe

2 cups whole wheat flour

1.5 teaspoons baking powder

½ cup dried blueberries

1/3 cup peanut butter (smooth, crunchy, doesn’t matter)

1/2 cup hot water

½ cup honey

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper. (You can use mist olive oil).

In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients: the flour and baking powder, and blueberries.

Then, drop in the peanut butter, add the hot water and honey. Stir to combine. You want it to be like bread dough, so adjust honey & water to make sure it’s not too sticky or too dry.

Add more flour if it’s too wet.

Roll it out on a floured surface and cut out.

Use any cookie cutters you like.
Spread the shapes on the cookie sheet.

Leave room between them, so they don’t stick together when they expand.

Bake for 20 minutes.

Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving.

Store the cookies in an airtight container.
